During their swearing in on Thursday 31st August, several Members of Parliament found it hard to pronounce ‘conscientiously’ a word that has been in their oaths since time immemorial.
The word ‘conscientiously’ means to be wishing to do what is right, especially to do one’s work or duty well and thoroughly.
Many read the word as “consciously” which has a different meaning from conscientiously. Consciously means in a deliberate and international way.
