Born on April 20, 1943, in Santa Barbara, California, she came from a wealthy family with a history of mental illness. Edie struggled with anorexia, bulimia and personal demons throughout her life. She starred in Warhol’s films, posed for Vogue, and inspired Bob Dylan’s songs before tragically passing away at the age of 28 in 1971.

Clara Wanjiku took to Medium to speak out against Nigerian Fintech, Flutterwave, CEO Olugbenga Agboola, who she says has been harassing her for the last five years since she quit. Gjenge makers, a company comprising of four engineers in Nairobi has found a way of recycling plastic by making bricks out of single-use plastic such as bottle tops and cooking oil containers. Kenya effected a 2017 law banning use of plastic bags in the country and a 2020 ban on using single-use plastic waste in protected areas such as beaches, National parks and forests. Nairobi alone generates about 500 metric tonnes of plastic waste every single day and although the country can recycle a fraction of it, there is fear that we will always use more than can be recycled.

The government has been ordered to pay Marble Arch Hotel owner Mike Maina Kamau Ksh859 million as compensation for demolishing his Spring Valley home to pave the way for a road. High Court Judge Justice John Mativo has directed the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure as well as the Attorney-General to ensure the tycoon receives Ksh847,277,351 for the demolished property and Ksh12,259,342 as the cost of the case.
